Stella Lake

Stella Lake is one of the six subalpine lakes found in Great Basin National Park. It occupies a glacial cirque near the Wheeler Peak Campground. The majority of the water in it comes from snowmelt. During the summer a large amount of water evaporates off the water surface and the lake decreases, leaving what appears to be bathtub-like ring around it.

The Alpine Lakes Loop Trail (2.7 miles) passes Stella and Teresa Lakes, with great views of Wheeler Peak. Begin at the Bristlecone Parking Area, near the Wheeler Peak Campground.
