Cave Lake State Park is a year-round park that offers outstanding recreational opportunities. It features a 32-acre reservoir and provides excellent trout fishing, boating, swimming, hiking, camping and picnicking.

Mountain Bike trails near Ely are so popular that an enduro format mountain bike event takes place here annualy. Contestants pedal their bikes to the top of the mountain and then are timed at specific sections of the course.
White Pine Golf Course is an 18-hole course which was built in 1928. It has a USGA course rating of 72.3, which is 0.1% higher than the average for all Golf Courses. White Pine Golf Course is a par 73 course. It is 6,843 yards long, which is 264 more than the average for all Golf Courses.
Cross-country skiing enthusiasts can delight in four to five miles of groomed and marked trails at the Ward Mountain Recreation Area, just six miles from the Ely City limits. Another 15 miles of un-groomed, marked trails await the more adventurous.

Cave Lake State Park hosts a public ice skating rink during winter months. The rink is open to all park visitors with only a fee to rent equipment if needed. The skating rink is located just off the north dock of Cave Lake.
The Steptoe Valley Soccer League is widely known for their professionalism and ability to have fun and build character. Parents in Ely, McGill and the surrounding area have loved having their children participate in the Steptoe Valley games. What a great way to help kids build character, have fun, and make friends.
The White Pine Little League organization has been teaching the fundamentals of baseball/softball, sportsmanship and having fun for over 50 years.
