DESCRIPTION:Ely Virtual Film Festival 2021\nEly’s second annual film festival takes place March 12-14\, 2021 and has gone virtual! Celebrating Ely’s rich film history\, this annual event will showcase the cinematic creations that were filmed here over the years. The film festival also gives attendees the chance to meet the directors and crew and engage in discussion about those films. Local and amateur directors are encouraged to submit their short film to be incorporated into the festival. Locations include the beautiful historic Ely Central Theater\, The Postal Palace\, and the Bristlecone Convention Center. \n \nFriday\, March 12th\, 2021\n5:30-6:00pm: Opening Celebration and Virtual Cocktail Party\nOn-line participation via Zoom Facebook\, and Instagram. Attendees will be sent the recipe for the signature drink\, “Starry Night\,” and be eligible to win tickets to next year’s festival!\n\n6:00-7:30pm: Feature Presentation: Spirit of Nevada\nSamantha Chian and David Purdy\, host and producers of the television show\, Spirit of Nevada\, share their episodes and experiences of visiting the people and places in Ely and the surrounding area.\n\n–\nSaturday\, March 13th\, 2021\n2:00-3:30pm: 2nd Annual Short Film Contest\nYou’ll have a front row seat as the judges announce the winners and show this year’s locally produced short films.\n\n4:30-5:30pm: Panel Discussion: Film Editing and Location\nFilm Industry professionals discuss how important film editing is to the final product and how Ely is an important location for their work. A live moderated Q&A will follow.\n\n 4:30-5:30pm: Feature Film and World Premiere Presentation: Horror in the High Desert\nIntroduction by local filmmaker Dutch Marich\, a post-screening conversation with Dutch and cast\, followed by alive moderated Q&A.\n\n–\nSunday\, March 14th\, 2021\n10:00-11am: Nevada Northern Railway Retrospective\nCelebrate the movies\, advertisements and music videos that have been filmed at Ely’s historic and iconic location.\n\n11:15am-12:30pm: Presentation: Elvis\, Marilyn\, and Space Aliens\nRobin Holabird\, author\, critic and former Deputy Director of the Nevada Film Commission gives us the inside scoop on films made in Nevada\n\n2:30-4:00pm: Encore Presentation: Horror in the High Desert\n\nTickets and Passes\nVirtual Festival Pass $25\n“First 100” VIP Pass $100\nTickets and Passes Can Be Found HERE!\nDiscover More Events in White Pine County HERE!\nEly Virtual Film Festival Poster
