DESCRIPTION:Rotary Ice Fishing Derby – 2025\nThe ice fishing event of the year is right here in White Pine on February 22nd! Join the community and others for the 2025 Rotary Club of Ely Ice Fishing Derby at Comins Lake. \nEntry is $45. The VIP entry is $20 extra\, which enters you in a second drawing if you catch a tagged fish. \nRotary Ice Fishing Derby Pre-Registration will be the day before from 4:30pm – 7:30pm at the Bristlecone Convention Center. \nThe Registration Form can be found HERE! \nRules for this year can be found HERE! \nFishing begins at Comins Lake at 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on February the 22nd. \nWhen snow has fallen here in the high desert\, Ely’s Winter Season is in full swing. Our backcountry terrain has already become legendary to snowmobilers and skiers\, but did you know that White Pine County is the southernmost point in the state for consistent ice fishing? It also happens to be home to some trout and pike populations. If you’ve never given ice fishing a try\, there’s no better time to get outside and drop a line. \nThere’s Illipah Reservoir\, which covers up to 70 surface acres with a maximum depth of 50 feet. Illipah actually receives the most ice in the area\, even in drier winters. \nOf course\, there’s Comins where this year’s Ice Fishing Derby takes place.
