DESCRIPTION:Lund Pioneer Days begins on Friday\, July 19th with ranch rodear style cutting/corralling and branding\, with more of the same on Saturday. \nSaturday begins\, of course\, with the Pioneer Day Parade starting at 9 a.m. Expect floats\, antique cars\, horses and a variety of entertainers progressing through downtown\, followed by a Special Presentation at 10:30 a.m.\, a BBQ dinner at noon\, plus children’s games and adult horseshoes\, with vendor booths close by. A rodeo in the late afternoon and a fireworks show at dusk end the two-day event in spectacular fashion.

SUMMARY:150th Anniversary of Transcontinental Railroad Celebration
DESCRIPTION:On May 10th\, 150 years ago the Transcontinental Railroad was completed connecting the nation from coast to coast forever changing the way we moved around the country. Ely will join the rest of the country in celebrating this momentous historic event in it’s own way on May 10\, 2019 with live music\, train rides\, exhibitions\, talks and more. The first train leaves at 1 pm and returns just in time for the “Joining Of The Rails Ceremony” where both locomotives will pull up nose-to-nose and a copper spike will be driven just like at Promontory Point 150 years ago. A double locomotive train ride will go out at 4:30 pm and return just in time for a FREE concert at the Freight Barn starting at 6:30 pm with the Bar D Wranglers from Durango\, Colorado. The evening will be filled with music\, stories\, and comedy from the old west.

DESCRIPTION:Come take a winter train ride up Robinson Canyon and the old mining district here in Ely\, Nevada for locomotive 93’s 110th Birthday. Delivered new in 1909 locomotive 93 was build to haul copper ore between the mine and the smelter and is still hauling trains today. Beside the winter fun on the train\, we also have a special ticket price for this ride of $20 per Adult and $10 per child. Book your ticket ahead of time because this train will sell out.
