DESCRIPTION:Turkey Vulture Stretch 5k 2025\nWelcome spring and the turkey vultures back to Ely\, with the Turkey Vulture 5K Run/Walk. Every March\, the turkey vultures return to Ely after a relaxing winter in South America.  This run is to honor these not-so-pretty birds and welcome them and spring back to Ely! The route takes you past the Ely Cemetery where you have a chance of seeing a turkey vulture with its wings outstretched in a tree. \nThe event is held at Veterans Park near the duck pond and takes a lap around town. Medals will be awarded to the top 3 female\, top 3 male\, top 3 kids (10 yrs and younger)\, and top 3 seniors (55+). DESCRIPTION:Eastern Nevada Cornhole Championships 2025\nEarn your claim to fame on March 29th for the Eastern Nevada Cornhole Championships 2025 in Ely\, Nevada! \nWe are returning to our annual\, double elimination cornhole tournament. Held in between winter and spring\, when it’s not quite warm enough to enjoy backyard cornhole\, but not quite cold enough to only stay inside. \nThis double elimination tournament is centered around a classic backyard pastime. There are recreational and pro divisions. Invite your friends and family\, get your teams together and register! \nTeams can be men\, women\, or mixed\, and are asked to register as only Recreation or Pro. \nMatches will begin 10:00 A.M. at the Bristlecone Convention Center. \n$20 a Team \nCall us at (775) 289-3720\, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.\, Monday through Friday to register your team. \nYOU MUST REGISTER BEFORE THE EVENT. There will be no “Day Of” Registration.
