SUMMARY:McGill Labor Day Celebration
DESCRIPTION:McGill Labor Day Celebration\nCome join the White Pine Community for the McGill Labor Day Celebration! \nThe festivities will be kicked of with a parade on Main Street. Line up for the parade will be behind the McGill grade school at 5:30 p.m. The parade will start at 4th and Avenue G and go to 4th and Avenue K where the street dance will begin. There will be locals selling food! The McGill Volunteer Fire Department will have a full bar set up for your enjoyment. Please drink responsibly. The street dance will go from 6:30 p.m. to 11 pm. \nSaturday at the McGill Swimming Pool there will be the annual “Big Splash” town barbecue starting at 11 a.m. The McGill town council has provided free hot dogs and hamburgers for the community. There will also have vendor booths\, a bounce house for all kids to enjoy and other activities. Please remember the McGill Swimming Pool is free and they have they’re big splash for the end of summer with all kinds of games for children. \nSunday starting at 4:00 p.m. at the McGill baseball park we will have our softball game McGill fire department vs White Pine County Sheriff’s Office. There is a $2 gate fee all proceeds will go to the MRA for the ballpark fund. Fireworks will be provided by Great Basin Pyrotechnics at 9 p.m.\, shooting from the Kennecott tailings just below McGill and to the west. DESCRIPTION:Race the Rails – 2022\nThe steam locomotive and the bicycle were invented nearly 10 years apart. Both changed the way we travel\, but which will prevail on September 10th at the Race The Rails? At the sound of the train whistle\, mountain and road bikers race to see who can get back to the depot before the train. \nMountain bikers test their speed and agility on a challenging 10 mile course through the beautiful mountains surrounding Ely\, while road bikers prove their speed and endurance on a 25 mile course along roads and highways in the area. Everyone who finishes the course will receive a finisher’s medal. \nThis is not a regular race against time\, or your fellow riders. It’s a race against one of histories most powerful inventions!
