DESCRIPTION:Summer Concerts in the Park – 2026\nJoin us this summer for our Ely Summer Concerts in the Park – 2026!    We’re very excited to keep the music going this summer\, and it’s all taking place at Broadbent Park. Looking forward to seeing the community come down for these FREE shows. Let’s support these amazing musicians and let them feel welcome. Everyone is invited! These shows are made for families\, and blankets in the grass. \n \nAugust 8\, 2026 – The Blues Monsters \nThe Blues Monsters have been taking center stage for over 30 years! A red-hot rockin’ blues band from the North Lake Tahoe and Reno area\, The Blues Monsters were voted the #1 blues band in North Lake Tahoe for 7 years running “Blues Access” a national publication reviewed their 2nd CD “Live Vibrations” and could it be said any better\, “this band has all the ingredients for a great show.” The Reno Gazette Journal stated “this CD should be used as a teaching tool for anyone who wanted to record a live CD.” Their first CD “Red Hot Hat” received substantial airplay on KTHX Reno as well as “Mick Martin’s Blues Party” the blues show broadcast on NPR radio in Sacramento and sold thousands of copies. \nAs an example of such diversity\, though primarily a blues rock band\, the funk instrumental selection off the CD ‘Red Hot Hat\,” entitled “Blue Monster” written by Barry Slayton was used on the benefit CD ” Tahoe Jazz 2000″ featuring a host of artists such as the Yellow Jackets\, Michael Franks\, Marilyn Scott and others. \nMembers of the band have shared the stage with a Monster cast of musicians- Journey’s Neal Schon\, the Drifters\, David Coverdale of Whitesnake\, Jimmy Page\, Creedence Clearwater’s Doug Clifford and Stu Cook\, Stephen Stills\, Lydia Pense and Cold Blood\, Bo Diddley\, Grateful Dead’s Bob Wier\, Booker T and the MGs\, The Commitments\, Kenny Loggins\, Kenny Neal\, Tinsley Ellis\, Pablo Cruise and more! \nIt’s amazing to find such a powerfully unique combination of R&B\, funk\, jazz\, and Chicago-style blues high in the mountains. Polished\, tight\, yet bursting at the seams\, their originals are fresh and new\, even though it’s still the blues. Their covers are framed in signature arrangements that demonstrated the depth of the band’s talent. \nWhether paying respects to the masters of traditional blues\, or rockin’ out other tunes\, The Blues Monsters get the whole house up and dancing. They’re a red hot time – a great reason to choose blues! \nWebsite: The Blues Monsters – The Best Blues In Lake Tahoe – Home \nFacebook: Facebook Blues Monsters

Mingle/learn all about the American Discovery Trail and this historic event. \nWhen: \nWelcome and Mingling\, 1pm – 3pm \nBBQ\, 4pm \nTaking place at Cave Lake State Park\, feel free to bring out your paddle boards and fishing poles. Take full advantage of a beautiful summer evening. \nAbout the American Discovery Trail: \nYou seek to enjoy nature. You want to understand history and culture. Do it on the American Discovery Trail. \nWith 6\,800 miles between the Atlantic and the Pacific\, there are plenty of opportunities to have fun\, expand your mind\, and strengthen your body. \nAbout America 250 Relay: \nIn 2026\, we celebrate the outdoors and 250 years of American history with the American Discovery 250 Relay. \nThis 6\,800-mile relay from California to Delaware will carry a copy of the Declaration of Independence from coast to coast\, crossing the Golden Gate Bridge on the 4th of July and ending on Thanksgiving at the Atlantic Ocean. Join the celebration by participating for a day or more in a relay\, attending some of the locally-hosted events\, or sharing your story of personal growth and adventure. Together\, we commemorate America’s past and shape our future. \nThere are many ways to learn about America. We welcome you as a participant\, sponsor\, or simply an enthusiast who follows the relay from your couch at home! On any given day\, there may be between 5 and 50 participants carrying the baton\, and you are welcome to recruit your friends and neighbors. \nThe relay is a celebration of America and a celebration of the American Discovery Trail — educating people about American history\, culture\, and nature. This is not a sports or athletic contest\, exhibition\, festival\, parade\, or fundraiser. The American Discovery Trail goes past numerous historic sites\, through dozens of ecosystems\, and it is hosted by hundreds of communities. \nThe 35-year-old route passes through lands and trails overseen by numerous state and local agencies and organizations in fifteen states\, the National Park Service\, U.S. Forest Service\, Bureau of Land Management\, as well as near the homes of more than 40 million people. Relayers and participants will be from around the country and also abroad\, with opportunities for businesses\, families\, students\, older residents\, and communities of all types to be involved. \nWe are proud White Pine County has such a large volunteer base for this event\, and great to be along the route!

He started playing mandolin and singing at the age of 8\, and got his first guitar at 14. He started learning songs by singing along with records and the radio\, and has developed a huge repertoire of somewhere between 3 and 4 hundred songs. He now makes his home in Southwest Idaho\, where he and his wife Samantha are raising their three sons. After spending 18 years as a professional cowboy throughout the western states\, Buddy began to focus more seriously on his music about 15 years ago\, and began playing professionally. In 1017\, he brought together several other talented musicians from Southwest Idaho to form Buddy Devore and the Faded Cowboys. With their energetic brand of Western Honky Tonk music\, the band plays extensively at venues and festivals throughout the Mountain Northwest. The Faded Cowboys consist of Buddy DeVore – lead vocal and guitar\, Bernie Reillly – upright bass\, guitar and vocals\, Louis McFarland – drums\, Rob Matson – guitar and vocals\, and Sam Rothwell – steel guitar. Their shows feature the best of classic traditional Country Music\, as well as original material written by Buddy. \nApple Music: ‎Buddy DeVore and the Faded Cowboys – Apple Music \nFacebook: Facebook Faded Cowboys \nInstagram: Instagram \nSpotify: Buddy DeVore and the Faded Cowboys | Spotify \nYouTube: Buddy DeVore and the Faded Cowboys – Topic – YouTube

SUMMARY:Race the Rails 2024
DESCRIPTION:Race the Rails 2024\nThe steam locomotive and the bicycle were invented nearly 10 years apart. Both changed the way we travel\, but which will prevail on September 7th at the Race The Rails? At the sound of the train whistle\, mountain and road bikers race to see who can get back to the depot before the train. \nMountain bikers test their speed and agility on a challenging 10 mile course through the beautiful mountains surrounding Ely\, while road bikers prove their speed and endurance on a 25 mile course along roads and highways in the area. Everyone who finishes the course will receive a finisher’s medal. \nThis is not a regular race against time\, or your fellow riders. It’s a race against one of history’s most powerful inventions! It’s Race the Rails – 2024!\nRegister for Race the Rails 2024 HERE! \nSee what Ely offers in lodging by clicking HERE! \nEly is a remote mountain town of 4\,000 where history\, art\, and outdoor adventure run deep. In the nearby Great Basin National Park\, travelers have the chance to descend into the depths of the Lehman Cave system to explore a series of limestone and marble caverns full of huge stalagmites and other wild rock formations. The park is also home to the snow-capped Wheeler Peak which\, at 13\,000 feet\, is the second-tallest mountain in Nevada. \nFollow Updates on Our Facebook HERE!
