SUMMARY:Race the Rails 2024
DESCRIPTION:Race the Rails 2024\nThe steam locomotive and the bicycle were invented nearly 10 years apart. Both changed the way we travel\, but which will prevail on September 7th at the Race The Rails? At the sound of the train whistle\, mountain and road bikers race to see who can get back to the depot before the train. \nMountain bikers test their speed and agility on a challenging 10 mile course through the beautiful mountains surrounding Ely\, while road bikers prove their speed and endurance on a 25 mile course along roads and highways in the area. Everyone who finishes the course will receive a finisher’s medal. \nThis is not a regular race against time\, or your fellow riders. It’s a race against one of history’s most powerful inventions! It’s Race the Rails – 2024!\nRegister for Race the Rails 2024 HERE! \nSee what Ely offers in lodging by clicking HERE! \nEly is a remote mountain town of 4\,000 where history\, art\, and outdoor adventure run deep. In the nearby Great Basin National Park\, travelers have the chance to descend into the depths of the Lehman Cave system to explore a series of limestone and marble caverns full of huge stalagmites and other wild rock formations. The park is also home to the snow-capped Wheeler Peak which\, at 13\,000 feet\, is the second-tallest mountain in Nevada. \nFollow Updates on Our Facebook HERE!

For as long as he can remember\, music was at the forefront of Steven’s life. Since he was 13 years old\, Steven has been playing in bands\, helping other artists create their music\, and touring the US and Australia. Six years ago\, Steven decided to focus on writing the songs he’d always wanted to. After many failed recording attempts\, and multiple songs thrown out or reworked\, he finally had the songs he felt represented him as an artist. In March of 2017\, Steven ventured out to Nashville TN to record his first full-length record which was released on November 24th\, 2017. In 2019 Steven Denmark was the backing band for Nikki Lane during Stagecoach Music Fest held in Indio\, CA. That same year he also played Stagecoach. Since then and through and after 2020\, Steven has been writing\, recording\, and producing the majority of his latest released work. Steven Denmark’s music can be best described as a mixture of Rock-A-Billy meets Texas Swing.\n\nOpener: Darren Senn\n\nWebsite: https://www.stevendenmark.com/\n\nSpotify: https://bit.ly/44enoii\n\nInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/stevendenmark/\n\nYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@stevendenmark9150\n\nDiscover More To Do While You Visit Here!

SUMMARY:Race the Rails 2023
DESCRIPTION:Race the Rails 2023\nThe steam locomotive and the bicycle were invented nearly 10 years apart. Both changed the way we travel\, but which will prevail on September 9th at the Race The Rails? At the sound of the train whistle\, mountain and road bikers race to see who can get back to the depot before the train. \nMountain bikers test their speed and agility on a challenging 10 mile course through the beautiful mountains surrounding Ely\, while road bikers prove their speed and endurance on a 25 mile course along roads and highways in the area. Everyone who finishes the course will receive a finisher’s medal. \nThis is not a regular race against time\, or your fellow riders. It’s a race against one of histories most powerful inventions! It’s Race the Rails – 2023!\nRegister for Race the Rails 2023 HERE!

His powerfully deep vocals and jazz inspired\, blues guitar riffs are unforgettable; uniquely his own\, while reminiscent of the legendary BB King and Albert King. As a child\, Chris Cain attended concerts with his dad to hear many of the great blues artists of the time. When Cain burst onto the blues scene in 1987 with his award winning debut album\, he soon found himself sharing the stage and trading licks with a few of those legends\, including Albert King and Albert Collins. Chris Cain has released a dozen albums\, each filled with soul-stirring songs pulled from his own blues drenched heart. His brand of blues is unforgettable.\n\nCain was raised on stories of his father’s childhood upbringing on Memphis’ Historic Beale Street and attended his first B.B King concert at the tender age of three. Blues music played continuously on the home stereo and family outings were often trips to concerts. Cain recalls\, “I remember when I was a kid\, my Dad would be mowing the lawn with the stereo blasting Muddy Waters. When I look back\, that was pretty cool! There was always music playing at our house\, Ray Charles\, B.B. King\, Freddie King\, Albert King\, all the greats.”\n\nAt the age of eight\, Cain taught himself to play guitar and began playing professionally before he was eighteen. Chris studied music at San Jose City College\, and was soon teaching jazz improvisation on campus. Over the next twenty years\, Cain would also master piano\, bass guitar\, clarinet\, alto and tenor saxophone. The combination of his blues upbringing and his jazz studies melded to form the searing guitar style that sets Chris Cain apart and has moved him to the top ranks of the blues music scene.\nWebsite: https://www.chriscainmusic.com/Cain_history.html

These shows are made for families\, friends\, and blankets in the grass. \n \nJuly 29th – Jake Jacobson\, opener Darren Senn\n\nDarren Senn Bio:\nThrough engaging stories and simple\, well-crafted songs\, Darren Senn is sure to take you someplace.\nSince releasing the studio album Detrimental Tendencies in 2018\, Senn released two new singles in 2020 : “Gone Are the Days\,” which harkens back to the simplicity of childhood\, and “Winnemucca\,” another stripped-down gem taking us on a lonely trip to a Nevada desert town to meet an old high school friend. “It’s a painting about the human condition. Not the happiest number\, but one of my favorites. A long lost buddy and me were both struggling with alcohol and life and decided to meet up in Winnemucca and drink about it.”\nBorn and raised in Eugene\, Oregon\, Darren Senn has resided in Stateline\, Nevada (Lake Tahoe) for the past 24 years and plans to keep cranking out folk songs and playing shows until the end of time!\nWebsite: https://www.darrensenn.com/home\nSpotify: https://bit.ly/3NDEsHn\nYouTube: https://bit.ly/43bqNNn\n\nJake Jacobsen Bio:\nCountry crooner Jake Jacobson is cut from a different cloth.\nA world-class athlete from the age of five\, Jacobson performed at levels most people never dream of — all before he turned 17. And during the most stressful times of his young career\, Jacobson turned to country music. Now\, the neo-traditional “throwback kid” is spinning his own country gold.\nWith roots in Reno\, Nevada and an upbringing in a Northern California ranching town of 2\,000 people\, Jacobson finds himself drawn to the stories and lifestyles of the unique characters intersecting his life. And those are precisely the people and places that jump from the speakers on his latest work\, the four-song EP Reno.\nOn Reno\, Jacobson celebrates what made him — from the blistering weather of Nevada’s high desert to the neo-traditional country sounds he first heard from his dad’s own honkytonk band in the late 90s and early 2000s. You don’t need to listen hard to hear the influence Jacobson pulled from getting up on stage as a young kid and singing along to Brooks & Dunn’s “Neon Moon” with his dad.\nBut Jacobson is far from a tribute act. Much like his heroes before him (artists like Keith Whitley\, Randy Travis\, and Cody Johnson)\, Jacobson finds inspiration in the people and places that make his perspective unique.\n“Reno is a city where there’s no last call\,” Jacobson says. The combination of alcohol\, gambling\, and nearby outdoor destinations like Lake Tahoe make it a unique cross-section of all kinds of kinds. In his song “First Call\,” Jacobson turns that trope on its head as a clever ode to leaning on the reliable ones in your life instead of the vices that can dig you deeper into the ground.\nReno the EP is much like Reno the city\, in a lot of ways. For one\, the four-song EP takes turns that feel uniquely distinct but each vital to what makes the work whole — much like the changing weather in the mountain town. “We truly have all four seasons of weather\,” Jacobson says. “You just never know when one season stops and the other begins because they rotate year-round.”\nAnd while Jacobson’s rising path to success is one tinged with a tip of the hat to the modern age — his first big break came when Randall King caught wind of a cover he posted on Twitter and invited him to come out to Nashville\, eventually leading to his debut EP with Trent Willmon and a slew of dates opening for artists like King\, Clay walker\, and Kip Moore — there’s no doubt his continued success will be a testament to the timeless values of hard work and good storytelling.\nWebsite: https://jakejacobsoncountry.com/\nSpotify: https://bit.ly/3CZiHwO\nYouTube: https://bit.ly/3pw6IDV
