Just in time for spooky season\, this is a fun costume party with drinks and games on October 5th\, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. \nThe themed night will include several fun aspects for visitors\, who must be 21 years of age or older. Along with the museum and grounds being decked out in complete Halloween attire\, keep warm by telling haunted stories around outdoor firepits. Stay engaged by the open bar as bartenders serve you spirits (the drinking kind of spirits\, but the ghost kind may also be in attendance). \nOther activities for the party include a fortune teller who’s prepared to read palms and interpret tarot cards. Guest speaker Tara Klaas will be speaking and providing her expert knowledge on UFOs in Nevada. You’ll be able to share your UFO experiences as well! Plus\, expect ambiance and live music provide by local band\, The Watermen. \nMost importantly\, this is a costume party! The Museum hopes you’ll dress up in your best masquerade that adds to the night. \nTickets are $40.00 per person\, and $35.00 for Public Museum Members. In 1982 a 12\,000 year-old giant Short Faced Cave Bear was discovered in Spring Valley by local cavers and is on display in our museum. Other indoor exhibits include a Lincoln Highway display\, Native American artifacts\, and mining history and geology in White Pine County and Great Basin Area. You can visit the Cherry Creek depot\, a 1 room school house\, log cabins and other outdoor exhibits including mining equipment\, a caboose\, and other artifacts. \n“The Historical McGill Drug Store is a time capsule and remains as it was in the heydays of the town of McGill\, including many products “on the shelf” from many years ago. This is a satellite museum\, and can be scheduled periodically for tours by contacting the White Pine Public Museum at (775)-289-4710. \n“Funding depends on membership fees\, donations\, our gift shop sales\, and grants. In 1982 a 12\,000 year-old giant Short Faced Cave Bear was discovered in Spring Valley by local cavers and is on display in our museum. Other indoor exhibits include a Lincoln Highway display\, Native American artifacts\, and mining history and geology in White Pine County and Great Basin Area. You can visit the Cherry Creek depot\, a 1 room school house\, log cabins and other outdoor exhibits including mining equipment\, a caboose\, and other artifacts. \n“The Historical McGill Drug Store is a time capsule and remains as it was in the heydays of the town of McGill\, including many products “on the shelf” from many years ago. This is a satellite museum\, and can be scheduled periodically for tours by contacting the White Pine Public Museum at (775)-289-4710. \n“Funding depends on membership fees\, donations\, our gift shop sales\, and grants. Volunteers and two part-time staff operate our museum. School field trips are welcome and can be scheduled by calling the museum.
