Buddy DeVore and the Faded Cowboys - July 11th

Born in Othello, Washington and raised in Southwest Idaho, Buddy DeVore grew up surrounded by ranchers, and Country Music. He started playing mandolin and singing at the age of 8, and got his first guitar at 14. He started learning songs by singing along with records and the radio, and has developed a huge repertoire of somewhere between 3 and 4 hundred songs. He now makes his home in Southwest Idaho, where he and his wife Samantha are raising their three sons. After spending 18 years as a professional cowboy throughout the western states, Buddy began to focus more seriously on his music about 15 years ago, and began playing professionally. In 2017, he brought together several other talented musicians from Southwest Idaho to form Buddy Devore and the Faded Cowboys. With their energetic brand of Western Honky Tonk music, the band plays extensively at venues and festivals throughout the Mountain Northwest. The Faded Cowboys consist of Buddy DeVore – lead vocal and guitar, Bernie Reillly – upright bass, guitar and vocals, Louis McFarland – drums, Rob Matson – guitar and vocals, and Sam Rothwell – steel guitar. Their shows feature the best of classic traditional Country Music, as well as original material written by Buddy.

Suika T - July 25th

Coming from a family of artists, Suika T. began cultivating her musical tastes at an early age. Her mother, Margarita Preciado—a pianist and poet—instilled in her a passion for lyrics and melodies, a passion that led her to travel and explore a variety of instruments. Originally from Mexico City, Suika T. is a singer-songwriter, rapper, percussionist, and ukulele player known for touring worldwide. She began by learning Latin percussion in Matanzas, Cuba, and later took lessons with Diego Alcázar (percussionist for Antidoping). She studied piano with Yann (formerly of Mano Negra) and took vocal lessons with various instructors. “Casa Verde Colectivo” was one of her first musical projects; there, Suika T. honed her skills as a percussionist, pianist, and vocalist, recording on the band’s first two albums. Suika T. is now presenting her debut solo release, featuring a fresh, new sound that fuses electro-cumbia, funk, reggae, jazzy beats, hip-hop, scratching, and live instrumentation with explosive lyrics and rhythmic flow. She creates beautiful rhythms and melodies that make audiences vibrate with energy. She is now fully committed to her solo project, promoting this unique, signature sound and sharing a message of “Word-as-Decree,” consciousness, and celebration.

The Blues Monsters - Aug. 8th

The Blues Monsters have been taking center stage for over 30 years! A red-hot rockin’ blues band from the North Lake Tahoe and Reno area, The Blues Monsters were voted the #1 blues band in North Lake Tahoe for 7 years running “Blues Access” a national publication reviewed their 2nd CD “Live Vibrations” and could it be said any better, “this band has all the ingredients for a great show.” The Reno Gazette Journal stated “this CD should be used as a teaching tool for anyone who wanted to record a live CD.” Their first CD “Red Hot Hat” received substantial airplay on KTHX Reno as well as “Mick Martin’s Blues Party” the blues show broadcast on NPR radio in Sacramento and sold thousands of copies.

As an example of such diversity, though primarily a blues rock band, the funk instrumental selection off the CD ‘Red Hot Hat,” entitled “Blue Monster” written by Barry Slayton was used on the benefit CD ” Tahoe Jazz 2000″ featuring a host of artists such as the Yellow Jackets, Michael Franks, Marilyn Scott and others.

Members of the band have shared the stage with a Monster cast of musicians- Journey’s Neal Schon, the Drifters, David Coverdale of Whitesnake, Jimmy Page, Creedence Clearwater’s Doug Clifford and Stu Cook, Stephen Stills, Lydia Pense and Cold Blood, Bo Diddley, Grateful Dead’s Bob Wier, Booker T and the MGs, The Commitments, Kenny Loggins, Kenny Neal, Tinsley Ellis, Pablo Cruise and more!

It’s amazing to find such a powerfully unique combination of R&B, funk, jazz, and Chicago-style blues high in the mountains. Polished, tight, yet bursting at the seams, their originals are fresh and new, even though it’s still the blues. Their covers are framed in signature arrangements that demonstrated the depth of the band’s talent.

Whether paying respects to the masters of traditional blues, or rockin’ out other tunes, The Blues Monsters get the whole house up and dancing. They’re a red hot time – a great reason to choose blues!
