Etsy is the leading global marketplace for selling handmade and vintage goods to more than 40 million customers. If you’re a Native artist or crafts-person, creating a store and selling on Etsy is an easy, straight-forward process. IDRS has created the Etsy Craft Entrepreneurship Workshop for artists/crafters that are looking to expand their customer base beyond the boundaries of their community and sell to consumers worldwide.
The Etsy Craft Entrepreneurship Workshop will be presented by two experienced trainers, Creek and Cherokee artists John & MaryBeth Timothy. John and MaryBeth through their business Moonhawk Art LLC, sell their art through various venues such as pow wows, art markets and online platforms such as Etsy. They made their first international sale through the Etsy platform and have continued to increase their global customer base through the Moonhawk Art Etsy store.
The Workshop is divided into a morning session and an afternoon session. The morning session is designed as a teaching opportunity where participants learn tips and techniques to sell and market their products through Etsy. During the afternoon session participants are lead step by step through the process of setting up their Etsy store.
Note: Participants are not required to stay for the afternoon portion of the workshop if they determine they are not ready or do not want assistance setting up their Etsy store.
