Ely, Nevada is for travelers who like to keep their hands on the throttle. No matter your preferred sport or cylinder, there’s a road for you. There are several opportunities for those who like to rip it on a motorbike. The Coyotes M/C host multiple rides and races over the course of the year. White Pine Productions presents an annual Motorcycle Rodeo every Father’s Day weekend. It’s an event with all the technicality of a rodeo, but motocrossed to the max. Straight away sprints, poles, and barrels are all done on your dirt bike or quad. Spectators are always welcome and add to the excitement by filling in the stands of the White Pine County Fairgrounds. We are also home to extensive OHV/ATV trail systems. Motorists can experience panoramic views of craggy mountains, rugged canyons, and forested highlands as our backcountry byways top any Nevada adventurer’s list. Feel free to go off-road with the High Desert Trail Blazers, a local riding group. If you’re looking for the same kind of ride but faster paced, look no further than the Legacy Racing Association’s Desert Race. However, to drivers who search for the ultimate experience and have always dreamed of putting pedal to the metal down the highway, fully opening their engines to power behind the wheel, they should look no further than the Silver State Classic Challenge. Two races occur every year with motorists speeding down Highway 318, and they carry no worry of spotting red and blue lights behind them. The Nevada Open Road Challenge every May, and the Silver State Classic Challenge in September, respectively. Check under the hood, and you’ll find that White Pine County is more than just a pit stop.
